Given that it’s a Monday - what better way to spend my time than cleaning up this travesty of a server rack!
@gonsalves throw it out, Rahul! Get a new one.
If you want any help disposing it off, ping me 😛
@r0h1n @gonsalves hahah! I see where this is going X-)
// Dang, one thing I can't do when running all-solar is to have these fun toys X-)
@gonsalves @r0h1n have two solar systems powering parts of the house for redundancy (can switch over if one fails) - each can handle 1500W for an hour on battery alone. Currently run an M1 Mac mini (~30W) and a laptop (15W). My backup server is run weekly for a day (80W).
For connectivity i have a dedicated 4G modem with antennas raised 30ft above ground, which feeds into my network switch.
@gonsalves @r0h1n not sure if i missed something about the question. I have batteries that are charged by the solar panels, but that's it for now. no mains line.
@gonsalves @r0h1n did not research further after getting a quote on how much it would cost to get new poles installed to be connected to the grid - I got half my redundant solar setup done in the same cost, minus the monthly bill 😅
