@anildash what's happening with Black Twitter these days? Last I heard was back in December.
@nelson it’s muted and diffuse. There’s no new critical mass. I’m personally really troubled by how nakedly someone like Bouzy has been trying to become the successor to it, since he’s a grifter. But I am still hopeful that fediverse tools can evolve to support the cultural & technical needs of Black Twitter over time.
@anildash it feels like the distributed nature of the fediverse would be perfect for a community like Black Twitter! I appreciate my LGBT affinity server.
OTOH I also understand how hard folks on Black Twitter (and others) worked to build their community and audience and don't want to give it up. It's a shame some monstrous billionaire is destroying it out from under them.
